Projects in Developping Countries
Every year 7000 to 8000 children are diagnosed with retinoblastoma. While the survival rate in industrialized countries is well above 90%, in most developping countries it is below 50% since diagnose is mostly late and adequate treatment often unavailable.
This is something we need to change. We have started a fellowship programm together with the International Council of Ophtalmology as well as projects in Nepal and in Bangladesh in order to achieve earlier diagnosis and access to better treatment options.
